Where to begin? I guess from the top.
My name is Petra and I'm from a small island in the Caribbean. Moved around for a while between the Caribbean and Europe until I settled in Europe. Most people think I'm crazy for choosing it over the sun, sea and sand–when it's below 0° and snowing I sometimes think they're right, but I don't think I could ever get use to living on a small island again.
A couple years ago I was looking for a book to read for a long distance flight and saw this cool book cover. Three guesses which book I'm talking about? They say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I did and it worked out. After that reading became a regular thing. Goodreads and then book blogs are what helped me find the types of books I enjoy. Now it's happily ever after and I'm trying to make up the time I wasted not reading when I was younger.
I don't stick to a specific genre, just read whatever interests me. My reviews (and I use that term lightly) are going to be mostly positive because I hate to criticize somebody's hard work. If I don't like it I'm more inclined not to review it. everyday.
I have this annoying (for me at least) compulsion that when I start a series, I have to finished it, so it's not something I do likely. The majority of my books are hardcover editions which is another weird compulsion that needs to end.
The music I listen to is as eclectic as the books I read. I grew up hearing reggae, soca, calypso and R&B around me, but have broaden my horizon and will give any genre at least a try. Photography interests me and I hope to someday stop procrastinating, learn more about it and buy a DSLR, same goes with learning to speak French.
I've always wanted to start a blog, just never knew what I'd be interested in talking about regularly until now. This blog is just me sharing my thoughts on books I've read, plan on reading and hopefully helping people discover a book they might miss out on otherwise or just hasn't caught their attention yet. A big plus is that I get to be on my beloved computer and feel like I'm doing something constructive :-D
